History and stories of the Bodenhaus
The Bodenhaus was built in 1722 as a trading house. Its stately dimensions reflect the importance of the building on one of the oldest transit routes in the Alps. As a result of the goods stored and handled in the vaulted cellars and wide corridors of the house, more than a whiff of the Orient and the wide world blew into it.
When the Bodenhaus was converted to an inn 100 years later, guests who stopped off there also came from far afield. 300 years of the Bodenhaus have produced a history and stories of merchants and military troops, of hoteliers and guests – of people who left their mark on the house.
